My July Now
Playing/ Wishlist is a little late, due to spending three weeks travelling
around America and then graduating last week, but I still wanted to share what
I’m loving and excited for at the moment.
Travelling posts
(and hopefully videos) will be up very soon, so keep an eye out for those too!
Orange Is the New Black – Season One
I’ve almost
finished the first season of Pretty Little Liars, and if I can tear myself away
for long enough I’m going to squeeze in a season of OITNB - it’s all everyone’s
been talking about since the third season came out!
Lianne La Havas – Blood
I have been
waiting to put this album on my Wishlist for so long, and now that July is finally here I only have to wait a
little while longer to listen to it!
Lianne La Havas’
first album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, is one of my all-time favourites; I find
her song writing so captivating and her voice is effortlessly rich and
expressive. Basically, I just want to be her, if that’s not too much to ask…
I was lucky
enough to catch her set last year at Glastonbury, but I’m really keen to go to
one of her tour dates. London in December, anyone?
Minions
I love kids
films just as much as my nine-year-old brother, maybe even more, so Minions is
one I’ll need to tick off the list at some point. If the two Despicable Me
films are anything to go by then it’ll be a must-see; I only hope that the spin
off does the originals justice and wasn’t just an excuse to plaster the world
with minions merchandise (although I’m sure
that had something to do with it).
The Book Thief
Towards the end
of my time away I started reading Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief, and I’m really enjoying it so far. I love the
unusual narrative structuring and point of view, and can’t wait to see how the
story unfolds. I won’t say too much more, because I’ll be posting a full review
once I’ve finished, but so far I would definitely recommend.
Memphis
Out of
everything on my Wishlists, it’s the theatre that I often don’t get to
carry-out, due to both money and time restrictions. Although perhaps now that
I’ve graduated…
One of the shows
currently in the West End that I need
to see before it has any chance of closing is Memphis. I have to admit, I’m curious, if
not doubtful, of the recent addition of Matt Cardle (from the X Factor), so it
will be interesting to see if he’s just another celebrity addition to attract
the masses, or whether he was a genuinely legitimate choice.
What are you listening to/ reading/ watching at the
moment? Is there anything you would recommend for when I’ve finished this lot?
