Beauty: Makeup Revolution Day to Night Eyeshadow Palette

The Day to Night eyeshadow palette was my first ever Makeup Revolution product, and I actually hadn’t heard much about the brand before then, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

I really love Makeup Revolution’s packaging. The casing of this palette feels quite plasticy and cheap, but the design is classy and it doesn’t look cheap. The packaging definitely doesn’t reflect the affordable price. Winning.

The other amazing thing about this product in relation to its affordability is the strong pigmentation and the staying power, which just seem miles ahead of the majority of other drugstore/high street makeup brands. Although I didn’t know much about Makeup Revolution, I certainly wasn’t expecting the quality to be this good.

The Day to Night palette has a wide range of colours, from a really pale, almost white shade to dark grey and bright turquoise. The shadows are a mixture of pearl, shimmer and matte shades, so you can create a lot of different looks with the one palette.

I tend to use the palette more for evening events rather than during the day, mostly because the darker shades seem to work better than the lighter tones, in terms of visibility. As you can probably see from the swatches, the lighter colours don’t show up that strongly, even for bronze tones; although they do make great base colours for daytime combinations.

It’s definitely a palette I would turn to if I was going on holiday and didn’t want to pack a lot of makeup, but wanted something that would work for both daytime and evening wear.

I don’t personally use the applicator, as I much prefer brushes, but it could be handy if you wanted to take the palette in your handbag and didn’t want to faff around with carrying brushes too.

I’m really impressed with this palette, and I’m definitely going to pick up another of Makeup Revolution’s 12-shadow palettes; I like the look of the Iconic or Essential variations. I’m also really keen to try out some of their lip products, so if anyone has reviews of these please leave the link in the comments!

Makeup Revolution’s Beyond Flawless palette is another one I’ve been trying out, and love even more, so a full review will be up soon…
