Tartan & Roll Necks: My Office #OOTD

Ever since I did my Christmas #OOTD I've been desperate to do another. So apologies, but I'm back with my awkward posing pretending like I'm a fashion blogger or something. I know, I know, but humour me - at least for one more post.

I got this Topshop skirt (similar here and here) for Christmas and I knew I would have to feature it on the blog at some point, because it has fast become one of my favourite items in the wardrobe.

As I mentioned in my latest Sunday Brunch post, I've recently started some work experience, so I thought I'd style up this skirt as part of an everyday work outfit for this post.

As the place I work has a smart casual dress code, I've put the skirt with this River Island roll neck black jumper, as it keeps the outfit comfortable, but fairly sophisticated. Y'know me...

Plus it means I don't have to think about choosing a jumper or cardigan to match when I'm rooting through my wardrobe at early o'clock in the morning.

If I'm going for a heavier makeup look, I'll reach for Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution Lipstick in the colour Glastonberry. It compliments the deep purple in the skirt so well.

I love pretty much everything about this skirt. It's a sturdy, thick material, the colours work together beautifully, the shape is flattering and the zip up the side just adds that extra something.

I have learnt, however, that it's not the one to wear out to dinner when you're planning on eating more than one course (which is every time, right?). The post-pudding bloat isn't a great look with this outfit.

My favourite bag to pair with this outfit is this Kate Spade beauty (similar here). I got the bag from an outlet mall in Las Vegas in the summer, and I'm still in love.

As the jumper is quite tight to the skin, I like to wear a watch over the top of the sleeve, and today I've gone for this rose gold Olivia Burton watch, as it's smart and suits the other tones of the outfit.

No commute to work or day in the office is possible without my phone, and I'm still loving my pineapple case from Coconut Lane. Don't forget you can get 20% off anything from Coconut Lane using my discount code balcony20. They've recently redesigned their website and it's looking fab.

What would you style with this skirt? Let me know what kind of things you like to wear to work in the comments!
