Beauty: February Favourites

I said in my January Favourites post that February's would hopefully be in video form, but I'm sure you've gathered by now that's not the case. As it's taken about three weeks for my laptop and WiFi to cooperate enough to upload a vlog that I filmed a month ago (and I will put it live this week, I promise), I thought that it would be best to hold off on making more videos until I've replaced my laptop.

But I couldn't let a month pass without letting y'all know about my latest beauty obsessions, could I? To be honest, I never thought I would be the kind of person who would have new products to introduce on a monthly basis, but somehow I've got another six things to ramble on about from the past month.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

I'm going to start off with something that's become an essential everyday product in my makeup routine. I was very sceptical about how effective a setting spray would be, but after seeing a lot of recommendations of Urban Decay's All Nighter Makeup Setting Pray, I had to try it out.

Even once I'd worn it a couple of times, I was still suspicious, and it took a day when I completely forgot to to apply it for me to realise how much of a difference it makes. With the spray my makeup lasts from when I leave the house at 7:30am until the end of the working day, whereas it will slide off somewhat by about lunchtime without any spray.

Even though it's more on the pricey side, I will be repurchasing it without a doubt, as I can't go a day without it.

Maybelline Lash Sensational

Even though I had been loving Benefit Rollerlash, when it ran out I couldn't bring myself to paying for it again when I'd been hearing so many good things about drugstore/ highstreet alternatives. Maybelline Lash Sensational was one that seemed to be everywhere, so I thought I would give it a go.

And guess what? I love it. Maybe just as much as Rollerlash. Maybe even more.

Makeup Revolution Day to Night Eyeshadow Palette

I wrote a review of this palette back in October, but then I went away travelling and kind of forgot about it. At the beginning of the month I fished it out from the back of my makeup drawer, and I've been using it multiple times a week since.

I love the browns and gold for simple everyday looks, and I've even surprised myself and used the two blue shades on the far right (that I thought I would never touch) for a couple of nights out. I had been avoiding the blues because I thought they would scream 80s, but with a little blending into a smoky eye look, they create a really subtle splash of colour.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer

I didn't initially get on with this highlighter, mostly because I had no idea how to apply it properly and would end up looking like I'd exploded a pot of glitter over my face. I still wouldn't go as far as saying I've perfected my technique, but now that I've experimented a little more, I'm loving the glow it gives to the top of the cheek bones. And by cheek bones, I obviously mean the imaginary ones that I've basically painted onto my face with a bit of amateur contouring. Someone teach me how to makeup?

NARS Cruella & Topshop Ditsy

My go-to lip colour for nights out and evening occasions in February was NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. I love how easily it applies, and the colour is gorgeous. It doesn't stay on my lips as well as some of my other favourite lip products, but with a few reapplications it lasts the night.

I've had this Topshop lipstick in the colour Ditsy for a long time, but I've been loving it more than ever over the past few weeks. It's a pinky colour that seems to compliment my skin tone really well, and even though it's quite bright, it's still subtle enough to wear to work.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what your February favourites were in the comments!
