Happy Sunday internet
pals! I'm writing this up for you on a Friday morning, so apologies if I seem a
little optimistic for whatever time of week you're reading this. Hey, I know
what keeping up with blog reading is like, so I'm not to pretend like you're actually
reading this over Sunday brunch. And if you are? You are my new favourite
person, tweet me to receive your prize...
Mildly interesting things that happened this fortnight:
I had two lovely catch-up meals with friends last week, but I was clearly so excited about food and the
faces that I'd missed that I forgot to take any photos. If a blogger didn't
photograph their food, did they really eat it?
And this week I've
been to THREE shows. THREE. I was invited by the amazing Stagedoor to go to
The Play That Goes Wrong, which involved a dangerous amount of laughter for a
Tuesday night. Friday meant heading back to uni to see my favourite society
ever perform Pippin. It was so strange being back, but so lovely to see so many
people that I miss singing with every week unreal amounts. And then last night
I saw Guys and Dolls, which is one of my all-time faves. Review to
follow shortly, of course.
Things that have kept me entertained:
I finally finished
Dickensian and War and Peace, so I'll be back to reading on my commute (when
I'm not writing blog posts, obvs), so hopefully next time I'll have a book or
two to talk about.
I recently discovered
Halsey, and I've been listening to her album BADLANDS a lot over the last
couple of weeks. I'm also really loving Jack Garratt, so I'm expecting that to
turn into an obsession pretty fast.
This fortnight’s haul:
When I was in
Newcastle the other weekend, I picked up this hat and scarf from Urban
Outfitters. I was wearing the same hat and scarf to work every day, so I
thought I would switch things up a bit and add these into the mix. Of course,
now I'm just wearing these two every day instead...
I'd also run out of
primer and eyeliner so I thought I'd try out Soap and Glory's Supercat Liner
and One Heck of a Blot Primer, and I'm loving them both. The eyeliner in
particular has changed my whole eyeliner game, and it's like I can't believe
what I've been missing in my life for so long.
Posts I’ve loved:
- Laura from Elelibee has just had a blog makeover, so if you don't know her already definitely check out her post Gotta Go My Own Way, because both her and her blog are looking amazing.
- I loved Sophie from Sophie Rose's post on making the most out of your lunch hour - it's something I can really relate to at the moment!
- Another really relatable post is Aisling from Aisling's Beauty Bytes 18 Thoughts You Have When You Finish An Amazing Book.
- I always really enjoy reading Katy from The Lilac Scrapbook's creative writing posts - go check out her most recent poem!
And finally, here’s a round-up of what I posted over the last two weeks, in case there’s anything you want to catch up on:
- An Afternoon at Sky Garden & Darwin Brasserie
- Travelling Southeast Asia: Ko Lanta & Ko Phi Phi
