The Sunday Brunch Post, Episode XIII

Since starting to write these posts once a month instead of every other week I had thought it would feel like ages between each post, but here I am again at the start of June wondering what happened to the last thirty days. I mean, June. Already? Are you sure?

May was a busy month, but it was also one in which I took a step back from blogging a little. I stopped putting pressure on myself to publish three to four posts a week and settled for just two. In fact, when I looked back at my blogging schedule, I was a little surprised to find out that had only managed to produce two out of four posts a week in March anyway. But this small mental change, the fact that I only ever set out to write two each week in May, has made such a difference to how I feel, both in being a lot calmer and more relaxed on weekday evenings, and feeling a lot more positive about the whole blogging process.

Mildly interesting things that happened this month:

May started out with such nice weather, which meant the year’s first barbeques and drinks outside. I also spent one afternoon in the cinema watching the new Jungle Book film, which seems like a bad move now that autumnal weather has set back in.

One of my best friends moved to Japan last month, so we had a few evenings of fun to celebrate her new job, aka pretend to be blissfully unaware that we wouldn’t be able to do this again until Christmas.

A couple of weekends ago I had planned to go to the gym with my mum, but instead that somehow turned into brunch followed by an afternoon spent sitting in the spa. A few lengths of the pool counts as exercise enough, right?

I also headed back to uni to see my old musical theatre society do their end of year showcase. It was so strange to be back, but so lovely to see everyone perform again.

For the last bank holiday weekend, I travelled north for a lovely few days with my dad, brother and grandparents. I am now in denial, though, that there isn’t another bank holiday until August.

Things that have kept me entertained:

If you’ve kept up to date with my posts over the last month, you might already be aware of some of the books, music and TV that I’ve enjoyed, and after a few days of binge-watching I’ve reached the current season of Game of Thrones. Waiting a year for season seven is going to feel like a lifetime.

Thanks to some recommendations from my brother, I’ve also been loving listening to Blossoms, The Crookes, The Sherlocks and Sundara Karma.

This month’s haul:

At the beginning of the month I went on a bit of a shopping spree, as I hadn’t bought new clothes in a really long time.

Apart from that one (planned) moment of weakness, I’ve been trying to save as much as I can for moving out, which will hopefully be within the next couple of months!

I have, however, had to replace some makeup bits, and those new products will be appearing in a beauty favourites post next week, so keep an eye out for that...

Posts I’ve loved:

And finally, here’s a round-up of what I posted over the last month:
